Thomas Tykwer's "Perfume" was released to great internet excitement and mild acclaim. I, for one, am a huge fan of "Run Lola Run" and I can't wait to catch this flick when it comes out on DVD.
Check out some of the original movie poster art for "Perfume":
Artistic, sexy, seductive, erotic...whatever adjective you want to put here, the poster art was fantastic.
Witness now, its DVD cover:
"Hey guys, I have an idea; for the DVD cover, why don't we take the original, fantastic poster art, butcher it, shrink it, and then paste a bunch of giant apathetic heads at the top?"
That's the ticket. Terrible.

Hi, stumbled upon your blog. I enjoy your series on movie posters vs dvd covers. Bad design bothers me more than most other people... Such as the fact that the actors' names aren't even lined up with their faces correctly.
I think that bothers me more on a fundamental level than the butchering of the poster art.
saw Perfume recently, it was well done in general, good character building, original cinematography... it says a lot about human nature as well.
